Area Pair Jailed On Theft Charges In Bradley Beach

A pair of area men were arrested and charged after an attempted theft from a Bradley Beach home last week, authorities said.

Aurthur J. Williams, 51, of Tinton Falls and James B. Lewis, 34, of Neptune, were arrested after the pair entered the yard of a Brinley Avenue home and attempted to steal metal objects with the intent to sell them for scrap, according to the arrest warrants.

Williams was charged with trespassing, possession of burglary tools, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a hypodermic needle. He was taken to Monmouth County jail, Freehold Township, in lieu of $15,000 bail.

Williams also was charged with a warrant out of Monmouth County Superior Court. Bail on that charge was $15,000. He was also charged with a $202 failure to pay a fine out of Asbury Park, according to jail records. 

Lewis also was charged with trespassing and with possession of heroin. He was taken to Monmouth County jail in lieu of $15,000 bail, according to jail records.
