The cyclist, Michael Dugan of Summit, took several photographs which were turned over to police. Upon review of the photographs, it appears that the gorilla may have been mistaken for a bear.

The animal was not aggressive towards Dugan. The photographs and this agency’s findings were turned over to Officer Rahmin Ghaffari of the N.J. Parks Police for further investigation.
