Belleville Man Charged With Making Bomb Threat Toward Wall Twp. Business

A Belleville man was charged Monday with making a telephonic bomb threat toward a local business in Wall Township.

Edward T. Lindwall, 39, was charged with one count of false public alarm, crime of the third degree, terroristic threats, crime of the third degree, and obstruction, crime of the fourth degree. His photograph will not be released at this time.

The bomb threat allegedly made by Lindwall occurred on Wednesday, April 16 at 7:42 a.m., police said.

Police were dispatched to the local business that concentrates in representing creditors in collections throughout the State of New Jersey after the business received the call. As a result, the building was evacuated.

Patrolman Ed Lister and his K9, Hades, cleared the building. Hades is a trained explosive detection dog. No explosives materials were recovered. 

An investigation by Wall Township Police Detective Daniel Mason led to the arrest of Lindwall. Members of the Wall Township Police Department K-9 Unit, Joint Terrorism Task Force (JTTF), and Newark Police Department assisted with the investigation.

Lindwall is being held in the Monmouth County Jail, Freehold Township, on $38,000 bail. Bail was set by Municipal Court Judge Joseph Defino.
