A Monmouth County grand jury on Wednesday handed up two separate indictments against a Belmar, charging him with a parcel of offenses stemming from a pair of arrests in May, according to court documents.
Jason R. Elfers, 32, was indicted on charges stemming from a May 20 arrest in Belmar for receiving a stolen Bank of America credit card, according to the indictment.
Elfers then used the stolen card at various establishments in Belmar, Lake Como and Asbury Park between May 20 and May 21, including Beckman’s Stationary, Sunrise Deli, Bar Anticipation, Johnny Mac’s and Dunkin' Donuts, 7-Eleven, The Boathouse Bar & Grill and McGann’s Steer and Spirits, according to the indictment.
Elfers was also charged in a separate three-count indictment charging him with burglary, theft and criminal mischief in connection with another May arrest in Belmar, according to court documents.
Elfers broke into a Belmar home through a locked door on May 9 and stole televisions worth more than $500, according to the indictment.
