Brick Man Charged After Rollover Accident

Man fells tree, rolls over car on Herbertsville Road

A Brick man was charged on Thursday with resisting arrest and motor vehicle violations after crashing his car into a tree, police said.

James O’Keefe was traveling east on Herbertsville Road at Easy Street in a 2004 Honda Accord shortly before midnight when he lost control and struck a tree, flipping the car upside down and felling the tree into the road. Herbertsville Road was shut for about 45 minutes, according to a release from Sgt. Erik Ertle.

O’Keefe was cited for driving on a suspended license and operating an unregistered vehicle. He was arrested by Patrolman Frank Kuhl for resisting arrest and contempt of court, Ertle said.
