Christmas Traffic Stop Nets 2 Wanted for Burglaries

Pair also charged with drug possession

Two wanted local residents spent Christmas evening in the care of the Monmouth County Correctional Institute after police caught up with them on Apple Ridge Circle in Wall.

Damien E. Davis, 29, of Lake Como and Jessica N. Franco, 21, of Wall were arrested on burglary warrants at 8:45 p.m. Sunday after Wall police pulled over their vehicle. Police said they knew Davis and Franco were wanted on the warrants issued on Dec. 23 when they initiated the traffic stop. They were being sought in connection with three residential burglaries in Wall.

Davis and Franco earned additional criminal charges after the stop, when police said they found drugs and paraphernalia.

Davis was charged with two counts of burglary, one count of theft, one count of conspiracy to commit burglary, one count of conspiracy to commit theft and possession of a controlled dangerous substance (heroin). He was jailed at the Monmouth Correctional Institute in default of $61,000 bail.

Franco was charged with three counts of conspiracy to commit burglary, two counts of conspiracy to commit theft, two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia and two counts of possession of a controlled dangerous substance (heroin and crack cocaine). She was jailed in default of $72,000 bail.
