UPDATE: Body Found On Parkway Is Female

Autopsy completed on Sunday

An autopsy has revealed that the decomposed body found near a Garden State Parkway exit is that of a woman, police said Monday.

The Middlesex County Medical Examiner completed the autopsy on the body — found near southbound Parkway Exit 98 — on Sunday, State Police Sgt. Brian Polite said.

Police are only revealing that the decomposed body is female, Polite said. No other details were made available.

The body was discovered around 4 p.m. Saturday and shuttered a lane of the Parkway until around 10 p.m. around mile marker 95.5, police said.
