FBI Arrests Wall Man In Home Invasion Robbery

Indictment says Wall man helped tie up and rob former employer

A Wall Township man was among four arrested by the FBI in a two-state sweep of people indicted in a year-old armed home invasion robbery, authorities said.

Thatch Nguyen, 33, was arrested and charged on Tuesday for his participation in a January 2010 home invasion in Bartonsville, Pa., according to a release from the office of the U.S. District Attorney for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, based in Philadelphia, Pa.

Nguyen and four others – Buu Huu Truong, 35, of Upper Darby, Pa.; Den Van Nguyen, 40, of Philadelphia, Pa.; Tahn Lee, 43 of Philadelphia, Pa. and Teo Van Bui – entered the home of a nail salon owner on Jan. 26, 2010, assaulted the owner and tied him up with duct tape while they rummaged through the home and stole valuables, according to the release.

Thatch Nguyen, once worked for the salon owner and acted as a lookout. Teo Van Bui was arrested in November 2010, on other charges, the release says.

A spokeswoman for the U.S. Attorney's office declined to give the location of Nguyen's arrest in town. The FBI also would not confirm the address of Nguyen's arrest.

Each man is charged with conspiracy to commit robbery which interferes with interstate commerce, robbery which interferes with interstate commerce, brandishing a firearm during a crime of violence, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, according to the release.

The four men met in Philadelphia at some point prior to the robbery to plan the crime because they believed the salon owner kept a large amount of cash at his home, the release says.

Bartonsville, Pa., is a tiny village of fewer than 2,000 in Monroe County in Eastern Pennsylvania, about 100 miles north of Philadelphia.

If convicted of all charges, each man faces the possibility of life in prison, the release says.
