Trio of Arrests On Drunken Driving Charges Overnight

Two separate single-car crashes and two other stops yield four arrests

Two local men were arrested and charged with drunken driving after each separately crashed into utility poles within minutes of each other early Monday morning, police said.

Matthew Lencewicz, 22, of Bradley Beach was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated after he crashed his car into a utility pole guard wires and landscaping at the Colfax Senior Complex at Belmar Boulevard and New Bedford Road around 1:13 a.m., Sgt. Kenneth Brown said.

Patrolmen Vincent Mazzaccaro and Eric Jennings were the arresting officers, Brown said.

Minutes later, Gregory Alexander, 41, of Point Pleasant, crashed into utility pole guide wires and a street sign on Route 35 around 1:20 a.m., Brown said.

Alexander was taken to Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune Township, by Wall Community First Aid and MONOC paramedics, Brown said.

Alexander was charged with driving while intoxicated and later turned over to the Hazlet Police Department for an active warrant, Brown said.

Two local women also were charged in separate arrests, Brown said.

Elizabeth Chlebek, 21, of Toms River, was arrested and charged with drunken driving following a stop on Route 34 just after midnight Monday, Brown said.

Patrolman Jason Kelly was the arresting officer, Brown said.

Angelina Rossano, 25, of Brick, was arrested on an active warrant out of another jurisdiction after a traffic stop on Route 35 just before midnight Sunday, Brown said.

Patrolman Chris Lisewski was the arresting officer, Brown said.
