Heavy Delays Persist on Northbound Garden State Parkway

Delays stretch from Toms River to Wall Township

Major delays continued mid-afternoon Monday on the Garden State Parkway due to flooding associated with a morning rain storm.

According to the state Department of Transportation and traffic maps, traffic was at a standstill between the area just south of the roadway's interchange with Route 70 and its interchange with Route 138 in Wall Township – in all, about a 13.2 mile backup.

There is standing water at milepost 96.6, forcing lane closures. Additional flooding near the exit 98 interchange with Route 138 is also forcing lane closures.
