Host Of Locals Arrested In Separate Stops

Drunken driving, drug possession and one minor car crash

Three local men were arrested and charged with drunken driving in separate stops overnight Friday and a group of juveniles were charged with minor drug possession, police said.

Michael T. Distasio, 27, of Old Bridge was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated following a traffic stop on Route 34 near the Allenwood Circle around 10:14 p.m. Patrolman Michael Malone was the arresting officer, Sgt. Joseph Wilbert said.

After a traffic stop at Route 35 near Old Mill Road around 10:42 p.m. Friday, three township juveniles – whose names are not being released because of their age – were arrested and charged with possession of less than 50 grams of marijuana and possession of paraphernalia. Patrolmen James Cadigan and Miles Shanklin were the arresting officers, Wilbert said.

Jonathan B. Krampel, 24, of Aberdeen, was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated after he crashed his car at the Collingwood Circle, at Routes 34 and 33 around 1:46 a.m. Saturday. Patrolman Miles Shanklin was the arresting officer, Wilbert said.

Sean R. Daly, 22, of Brick, was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated, possession of heroin, paraphernalia and a hypodermic needle following a traffic stop on Route 138 near Brinley Road around 1:53 a.m. Saturday. Patrolman Emmitt Idzahl was the arresting officer, Wilbert said.
