Investigation Into New Year's Ramada Inn Shooting Continues

An investigation is continuing into Jan. 1 "shootout" at the Ramada Inn on Route 9 that left three people wounded, according to police.

The shootout was the result of a fight between two separate parties being held in the suites at the hotel, according to The Asbury Park Press.

One of three men shot that night remains hospitalized in serious but stable condition at Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune, according to The Press. The other two victims have since been released.

Police say they’ve been actively investigating the case, starting with the interviews of 30 people who were at the hotel the morning of the shootings. Police have declined to say how many shooters they are looking for and how many times people were hit, according to The Press.

Three men were brought into Kimball Medical Center with gunshot wounds after police discovered a chaotic scene at the hotel, police said.

When police arrived, they observed four or five people climbing out of a second story hotel room window onto an adjoining roof.

Emergency services were on the scene in the building MONOC1 and Southstar responded to airlift the victims.

The victims were possibly shot during a fight at a New Year’s Party at a Ramada hotel in Toms River. One victim was reportedly shot in the foot, and one in the chest.
