Irene: One Year Later

How has the 2011 storm affected you?

Sunday marks the first anniversary of the storm that pulled trees from their roots, flooded cars, decimated homes and businesses and left thousands without power.

After Irene blew through the area in August, 2011, Wall Patch was there to cover the hurricane that had been downgraded to a tropical storm.

One year later, we're asking you: Does the storm continue to affect you? What changes did you make in and around your home? Did your business, or neighboring businesses survive the wind and flood damage?

Add photos of your neighborhood from the storm, and photos today so we can see how far we have come since the worst storm since 1985 hit the Jersey Shore.

Leave your comment below, and share your stories about how Hurricane Irene affected you and your family.

our neighborhood, right behind the Circus Circus drive in, literally came out of the storm unscatched. It's like we were in a little pocket of protection. We didn't lose power at all either (and thankfully, because I have a special needs child and we can't go wtih out power for him). It is weird how other areas nearby were hit hard and we were blessed for sure.

We were lucky too! We live behind the high school and only one tree came down on our block.

We are in the midst of installment of a BasePump. Operates without electric & batteries. Just can't face another foot of water in the basement due to no electric.

Don't do it. The Patch just wants others to do its job. The Patch reporter was moved to the HowellRead More Patch. Wall no longer has a reporter specifically assigned to our town. No longer do we have a reporter attending meetings and reporting on the important news relating to Wall.
