K9 Training Brings Police Dogs to Hotels, Theater for Practice

K9 detector exercises in multiple locations throughout week

Wall Township Police Department hosted a Detector Dog seminar Presented by Law Enforcement Training Services LLC of NJ April 29 to May 3.

 The seminar was for Narcotics, Explosive and Cadaver K9 Teams. The training took place at various locations in and around the Wall Township area including:The Wall Township Police K9 Training grounds, The Monmouth Executive Airport, Camp Evans, Blewitts Recycling, The Algonquin Theater and Various Hotels in Wall Township.

The training was designed to enhance the detection skills of the K9 Teams and to expose them to a wide variety of search areas. The K9 Teams also received a day of Instruction on record keeping and legal updates with regards to current laws pertaining to the use of K9s.

Upon successful completion of the training K9 Teams received a certification in accordance with United States Customs Service Standards issued through Positive Response Canine, LLC of Tennessee.

There was approximately 25 K9 teams, Police and Civilian from various States including; New Jersey, Connecticut, Massachusetts, New York and Ohio.
