Local Teen Arrested For Recent Break-in

Police say teen who lives in same development broke into home

A township teen was arrested and charged with burglary following an afternoon break-in earlier this month, police said Tuesday.

The 16-year-old boy, whose name is being withheld because of his age, was charged with a single count of burglary and one count of theft on Sept. 22, following a break-in on the 800 block of Justin Circle, located in The Mews development at Routes 33/34, Lt. Walter Pomphrey said.

Police began investigating following the Sept. 2 burglary, which occurred between 5:30 p.m. and 8 p.m., Pomphrey said.

The teen, who lives in the same development, was charged and released to the custody of a parent pending a date in family court, Pomphrey said.

The investigation is continuing, Pomphrey said, and anyone with information is asked to contact at (732) 449-4800.
