Mansfield Man Flees From Police, Arrested After Short Manhunt

Resisting arrest and warrants from other towns among the charges

A Mansfield man was arrested and charged with resisting arrest and warrants from other towns following a manhunt in the north section of Wall Wednesday, police said.

Michael Carroll Jr., 34, of the Columbus section of Mansfield, Burlington County, was arrested following a short hunt on Belmar Boulevard near Walton Way, Sgt. Heath Bono said.

Police arrived at Route 34 north near Airport Boulevard for a report of a man and woman fighting on the side of the road. Carroll fled into the woods when officers arrived. Howell Police assisted in the search for Carroll with a K-9 unit, Bono said.

Carroll was released after posting bail, Bono said.
