New Police Officer Sworn In

EMT with department to become newest member of the Wall Police

The Township Committee at its last meeting welcomed the newest addition to the Wall Police Department, swearing in a young officer already employed as an emergency medical techinician with the department.

Johnathan R. Gramlich 22, who also is a lifeguard and volunteer fireman in Spring Lake, was sworn in at the committee's Aug. 8 meeting while surrounded by family and friends.

Gramlich, who lives in Spring Lake Heights, has a bachelor's degree from Rutgers. He began at the Monmouth County Police Academy, Freehold Township, on July 23. He is scheduled to graduate in December, according to Chief of Police Robert Brice.

Gramlich will replace Detective Michael Textor, who will retire as of Sept. 1 after 27 years with the Police Department where he served in a variety of capacities, specializing as a Juvenile Officer and School Resource Officer, Brice said.
