Pair Charged With Theft; One With Drunken Driving

Separate incidents within hours Saturday

In separate incidents Saturday, police charged a township resident and a New York man with credit card theft and a township woman with drunken driving, authorities said.

Police charged Matthew Bachman, 18, of Wall and Sebastian Barbaro, 24, of N.Y., New York, with theft of movable property and credit card theft at Allaire State Park around 1:40 p.m., Sgt. Patrick Connor said in a release.

Investigators responded to the Princess Maria Diner on Route 35 where a man reported unauthorized charges on his credit card, the last at Allaire. Patrolmen Dan Mason and Eric Jennings were the arresting officers.

Police later charged Patricia Wilcox, 49, of Wall, for driving while intoxicated and assault by auto around 2:30 p.m., Connor said.

Wilcox was driving eastbound on Atlantic Ave. when she lost control of her car and crashed into a utility pole near Atlantic Farms, Connor said.

Wall EMS took Wilcox to Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune with a chest injury, Connor said.

Wall Community First Aid took Wilcox’s passenger, Starr Jimenez, 26, also of Wall to Jersey Shore with upper body pain, Connor said.

Patrolman Michael Tozer was the arresting officer, Connor said.
