Police Asking For Help Catching A Burglar

Police are looking for a man in connection with a burglary in the south end of town and are asking for the public’s help locating the man they say is part of a two-man team that broke into a home in August.

Police are looking for a Hispanic male in his late teens or early 20s, standing between 5-foot 8-inches to 5-foot 10-inches with a slender build, short dark hair and a flat face. He was wearing a baseball cap and had a small diamond earrings in both ears, Lt. Walter Pomphrey said.

Police say the wanted man and another broke into a Birch Place residence on Aug. 10 between 10:30 a.m. and 3:10 p.m., but fled the home when the owner came home, Pomphrey said. Nothing was stolen from the home, he said.

The second man, Robert V. Khun, 22, of Jackson, has been charged with the burglary. Khun was charged with a single count of burglary while he was serving time in the Ocean County Jail for an unassociated crime, Pomphrey said. Bail on the burglary charge was set at $10,000.

Anyone who may have information that could assist in the investigation is urged to call Wall Police at (732) 449-4500. The investigation is being conducted by Detective Rick Pasqualini.
