Body Found In Shark River Park Believed To Be Missing Lakehurst Girl

Body discovered Tuesday in a stream

A body believed to be that of a missing 2-year-old girl from Lakehurst was found Tuesday afternoon in Shark River Park, authorities said.

The body of a small girl was found partially submerged in a stream of the Shark River by teens walking in the park early afternoon Tuesday, First Assistant Monmouth County Prosecutor Christopher Gramiccioni said.

Gramiccioni would not say whether the girl found was Tierra Morgan, who has been missing since Monday when she did not return home from a visitation with her father. Gramiccioni said only authorities believe it to be the Lakehurst girl, and that an autopsy would be conducted Wednesday.

Shark River Park, on Schoolhouse Road, occupies 924 acres bordering Wall, Neptune and Tinton Falls.

The park was the site of an unidentified crime scene, where throngs of police and law enforcement authories have been seen poring over the park since mid-afternoon Tuesday.

Authorities were not saying why they were there. Wall Township Police Chief Robert Brice directed questions to the Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office.

The girl was expected back in her mother's custody by 7 p.m. Monday after a court-approved visitation with her father, 27-year-old Arthur Morgan III, who is believed to live in Ocean Township, said Executive Assistant Ocean County Prosecutor Michel A. Paulhus in a statement.

When the visitation period concluded, the girl was not returned to her mother, who was not identified by authorities.

Authorities said that the girl has not been seen since Monday when she was picked up by her father.

Morgan has been charged with the second degree offense of endangering the welfare of a child and interference with custody, which Paulhus said becomes a second degree offense if the girl is not returned within 24 hours. A warrant for Morgan's arrest has been set at $200,000 with no 10 percent option by Judge Francis R. Hodgson.

Get back at the mother & probably no reason at all. She was given custody,he unfortunately had visitation. There is usually a valid reason the wife left this man & mandated her freedom from this unfit husband. Think just maybe the court should review these cases throughly before putting her child in jeopardy as she could have felt her life to be threatened. I know this very sad occurrence will now remain under investigation forever, torturing this suffering family, keeping each awful detail public & preventing any chance of their starting the grieving process. I am so sorry for the loss of your precious child. You are never alone. God is always right there with you to help carry this burden.

i sure hope that the spirit of this little girl leads police to this low life. jail is way to good for him. we need to find a place for people who kill there kids so they can suffer like just like those poor little angels. parents going through custody issues. GROW UP. y must u kill them just because u cant get along with the mom or dad. you made this angel. love them n be the best parent u can. forget the other parent. number 1 in your life is the children. STOP KILLING THEM. IT IS GETTING SO SAD TO HEAR THE NEWS OR READ THE PAPER.

Well folks, blame Corslime for that fact that there is not death penalty in NJ anymore (not that it was ever used). After that he ran the state into the ground, now he might have stolen $1.2 billion from a securities firm !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OMG- and I was pissed that the road was blocked yesterday and I had to turn around! RIP baby girl.
skizma November 23, 2011 at 11:06 AM
stupid court ORDERed visitation. NO care for the child at all. What a joke. How often does the COURT cause harm, kidnapping by one of the parents? Fair...to whom? mommy/daddy? The CHILD should come first, not some immature concept of "fair".
skizma November 23, 2011 at 11:08 AM
absolutely. The COURTS who make these decisions take NO ACCOUNTABILITY for their stupid, crummy decisions. And the COURTS make them every day. How many women are killed by some derranged exboyfriend, husband etc. BUT the court states the guy has a RIGHT of some sort? Society talks out both sides of it's mouth.

This guy should be hunted down and killed on the spot like the sick dog that he is !

I'm hysterically crying as I read my emails, went from alert missing child to body found. This is a disgrace, since there was already a history only supervised visits should have been allowed, in any. As for children being disposable, it's our society, women and children not valued same as a man. Look at all these woman dumping babies in trash and not being charged with murder. I learned this sickening lesson when my great grandmother was killed in a car accident, I was 9 was supposed to be in car with her. 2 pm labor day weekend all watches and clocks stopped in our home we got the call. Later met with attorneys, they actually have a book with the list of body parts and the value of them as well as loss of life. My grandmother was told her mother at 79 had no value, and contributed nothing to society, yet if she had been a male same age the money would have been a pretty high value. Even at 9 I was blown away. Look at history how women and children were treated, alot has changed, sadly not as much as the average person would think. IMHO even in medical world men's illness and diseases are addressed much more quickly than women and children's. Alot of you will not agree and that's ok, we all have a right to our opinions. God bless this poor mother and glad there is no death penalty I hope the animal is caught and caged for life.

Yes Karen... lets find him, and reward him with cable TV, Internet service, a warm bed 3 balanced meals a day, and offer him a library full of books so he can educate himself to become a lawyer and turn around a sue the state who put him there. I say No, an Eye for an Eye. You may not agree and thats OK with me too. I just wonder if it was your child, would you still feel the same way about the death penalty?
Mattie November 23, 2011 at 01:49 PM
That effin' monster.... they better find him soon, try him swiftly, and put his butt in prison FOR LIFE where they just Looooove baby killers.
Mattie November 23, 2011 at 02:46 PM
Well Red, I look at it this way... if guilty and he's only in his late 20's... he should face the next SIXTY years locked away, deprived of freedom and a regular life, caged with other animals like himself, and faced with that grim future and what he's done every single day of those 60+ yrs. I honestly believe that's worse than a few minutes of panic and pain with a needle in his arm, and then gone for good. That's too good for him.
Mattie November 23, 2011 at 03:35 PM
why does politics ALWAYS have to come up? Not the place. Give it a rest.
Michele Gallucci November 23, 2011 at 03:35 PM
What a damn shame she was such a beautiful little girl. But now she is with god as angel watching over us.

There will be a candlelight vigil tonight at 6pm at the 600 block of Maple St in Lakehurst.

You have to be careful those comments; Don't worry! The police have ways of dealing with garbage that commit these kinds of crimes!
MikeDD November 23, 2011 at 03:53 PM
but the drain on society to keep this thing for 60 years is too much. with the death penalty on the table...this might not have happened...

God bless the family of this child and god bless her little soul. Young people , wake the _ _ _ _ up this is not a video game u can not turn off life and back on again . If u cannot handle the blessings of god, then don`t try to b responsible for the life of a child when u can't b responsible for ur damn self .
whatever41 November 30, 2011 at 03:03 PM
This creep was allowed "visitation" did it also allow that child to be taken from the home?? It so, it shouldn't have.
