UPDATE: Homeless Wall Man Fought With Police, "Squirmed" To Escape, Police Say

A Wall Township homeless man fought with police and "squirmed" to escape when he was nabbed for burglarizing two vehicles, police said.

Justin L. Longstreet, 23, faces two charges of burglary to vehicles on Dec. 27. According to court documents, Longstreet was found to have taken $7.89 in loose change plus a phone charger from a 2000 Mercedes-Benz E320 and a credit card from a wallet left in a 2011 Lexus.

When Bradley Beach Ptl. William Major was trying to take Longstreet into custody after he fled to a 5th Avenue yard following the burglaries, he allegedly fought with the officer, refusing to be handcuffed, the documents said.

Longstreet eventually was taken into custody after being tracked by a police K9.

He faces two counts of auto burglary as well as charges of trespassing, resisting arrest and obstruction. His bail was set at $30,000.
