Police: K-Mart Evacuated Following Bomb Threat

Business was closed for about two hours as officer scoured the store and immediate area.

The K-Mart location on Route 35 was evacuated for about two hours following a bomb threat, police said Tuesday.

The bomb threat was called in around 3:48 p.m. and the building was evacuated, Sgt. Mike Tozer said.

Police and K-9 units scoured the store and the immediate area. No bomb was found, Tozer said.

The store was reopened around 6 p.m., Tozer said.

Police and K-9 units from Wall Township, the Monmouth County Sheriff’s Department., New Jersey State Police, Long Branch Police, and New Jersey Park Police assisted the search, Tozer said.
