Police Ask For Help Catching Burglars

Three recent break-ins in the Sea Girt Estate section

Township police are asking for help solving three recent burglaries in the Sea Girt Estate section of town.

The detective division is investigating break-ins in the South Wall section of town dating back to March 12, according to Lt. Walter Pomphrey.

In each burglary, the thief or thieves entered homes by force and stole jewelry, Pomphrey said.

  • On March 12 a burglar or burglars entered a Village Road home through a side door.
  • On April 9, a Village Road  home also was entered through a side door.
  • On April 18, a Eighth Avenue home was entered through a side window.

Police are looking for a vehicle that may have been involved in the burglaries. Anyone who sees a blue, older model Ford Econoline Van, with windows on
the side and possibly a ladder on the back in the Sea Girt Estates section of town during daytime hours, is asked to immediately call the Wall Police at: (732) 449-4500, Pomphrey said.
