Police: Pair Blows Stop Sign, Hits Parked Cars

Two get alcohol-related charges for collision; one tries to flee on foot

An Oceanport woman and an Eatontown man were arrested and charged with drunken driving-related offenses after the pair blew through a stop sign and crashed into two parked cars Thursday, police said.

Lauren Coll, 37, and Matthew MacDonald, 36, were arrested around 11 p.m. after failing to stop at the posted intersection at Allaire and Allenwood roads, crashing their 2001 GMC Jimmy into two parked cars, Sgt. Chad Clark said.

MacDonald, the passenger, fled the scene following the crash and was found at the intersection of Atlantic Ave. and Hospital Road. He was charged with allowing an intoxicated driver to operate his car, possession of an open container of alcohol, disorderly conduct and public intoxication, Clark said.
