Police Probe Rash of Car Burglaries

Authorities remind residents to secure vehicles, remove valuables from view

Wall police are reminding residents to secure their vehicles after a rash of burglaries overnight Thursday.

Police said officers responded to the Shark River Manor residential area off Belmar Boulevard at 6:45 a.m. Friday on multiple reports of vehicle burglaries. Approximately 30 vehicles were entered, with cash and change stolen, police said.

The burglaries occurred sometime overnight, while residents were sleeping. Police said many of the targeted vehicles were left unlocked in residents' driveways.

Police remind residents to not leave valuables in their vehicles and to lock them, even when parked at home. To report any suspicious activity or persons, call the police at 732-449-4500.
