Police Release Sketch Of Gas Station Robber

Man accused of robbing Route 35 station at gunpoint

Update: Police on Thursday released a sketch of the man they say robbed a Route 35 gas station at gunpoint earlier this month.

Anyone who may have seen the man pictured in the sketch is encouraged to call the at (732) 449-4500.

The Gulf gas station at Route 35 and Allaire Road was robbed at gunpoint early morning April 15, police said.

A 9-1-1- call was received about 5:47 a.m. An attendant reported that a man, dressed in dark clothing, approached him with a handgun and demanded money, Sgt. Joseph Wilbert has said.

The attendant gave the man an undisclosed amount of money and the thief left on foot, Wilbert said.

The thief is described as a black man, about 6-feet tall and wearing dark clothing. He was armed, Wilbert said.
