Police: Resident Chases Away Would-be Thief

The Wall Township Police Department is looking for a man who entered an unlocked car parked in an unlocked garage off 18th Avenue Friday night before being chased off by the car's owner.

The incident occurred around 8:37 p.m. Friday near Kimberly Drive, Sgt. Todd Czech said.

A man described as a white male in his 40s or 50s, standing about 5-foot 5-inches tall and wearing a baseball cap entered an unlocked vehicle parked in an unsecured garage of his home.  The resident confronted the man, who ran away, Czech said.

Anyone with information that could be useful to this investigation is urged to contact the Wall Township Police Department at 732-449-4500.

The Wall Police also remind residents throughout to be alert of suspicious people or vehicles in their neighborhoods and to lock their homes and vehicles. Residents are asked to contact the Police Department immediately to report any suspicious activity, Czech said.

unlocked car parked in an unlocked garage -- wonder why the owner just didn't put a sign out saying "WELCOME"

We have no idea of the circumstances, Joey joe, so being so harsh and opinionated is uncalled for, IMHO.

@Maureen - You humble opinion has been noted... I was expressing mine....

IMHO, the circumstances are that "The Wall Township Police Department is looking for a man who entered an unlocked car parked in an unlocked garage off 18th Avenue Friday night before being chased off by the car's owner". Just saying...

My HO as well, Proud. I saw no need for the OP to ridicule the homeowner. He or she has enough on their mind.

@Fitz, you said: "We have no idea of the circumstances...". Then I said: " IMHO, the circumstances are that...". Then you said: " My HO as well...". Which is it? Do you humbly know the circumstances, or not?
Maureen Fitzgerald December 10, 2013 at 10:47 AM
You know, I have no desire to get into another word duel with you. No matter what I say, you have some argumentative comment. (Those were the circumstances of what happened, but not of what the reason was for the garage and car to be unlocked.) As I said, I find you to be a rabble rouser. I actually stopped posting for the most part because of you. Try making some comments that are germaine to the topic, not trying to make others look small and stupid.

Oh "Joe" stop being such a blow hard and child! You're a gadfly and you are annoying! An unlocked garage says "WELCOME"? What school did you attend, not a good one, I'm sure of that!
proud December 11, 2013 at 10:02 AM
The circumstances surrounding the unlocked car are that the owner of each did not lock them. I find that to be be very germane to the topic at hand. I merely commented on your comments. If you feel small or stupid, that's on you @Fitz.

@Rachel – I’m so sorry (NOT) that my opinion annoys you, and compels your attempt to belittle – but to quote Mr. Clark Gable – “Frankly My Dear, I don’t give a damn.” Perhaps you might want to stroll by “The Mall” today and see if you can “BUY” a sense of humor. You also have an option you can exercise if you don’t like my posts…that being – to pull a Dionne Warwick and “Walk on By.” If that choice is not to your liking then there is always this one…. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=584M1rcr9ik

I rather enjoyed that song. Lots of rock n roll in that lady. Just sayin ...

Wasn't she great.... Gutsy lady... Loved the reaction of the judges...
Maureen Fitzgerald December 11, 2013 at 01:44 PM
I tried to see how she made out in the long run, but it wasn't readily findable, and I'm on my lunch break, so I'll check it out when I'm home. Heck, even Simon liked it!
Joey Joe December 11, 2013 at 06:50 PM
Yeah, I gotta look too...if you find it before me let me know and I'll do the same.
Joey Joe December 11, 2013 at 08:58 PM
@Maureen - I drew a blank...did find out that she is rumored to be a professional comedian...so perhaps that eliminated her from the competition prior to the semi finals. I dunno..
Maureen Fitzgerald December 12, 2013 at 10:42 AM
Well, Joe, I also drew a blank. She seems to have dropped off the charts after her famous audition. I can't find any mention of her anywhere. I'll ask some friends I have in Great Britain, who are huge BGT fans, and let you know if I find anything.
