Two home burglaries, one stolen charity donation box

The Christmas thievery continues.

are investigating a burglary at a home in the West Belmar section of town, at least the third incident in the past several days.

Sometime during the daytime hours Monday, someone broke into a home on 6th Avenue and stole various electronic devices, Sgt. Pete Lokerson said.

The latest burglary is being investigated by Patrolman Brian Mansfield and Detective Michael Steitz, Lokerson said.

Also on Monday, between 7:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. between Route 138 and 18th Avenue and stole various items, including electronics. Patrolman Michael Hurden and Detective William Bono are heading the investigation Lokerson said.

Last Friday around 11 p.m., from outside the home of Nik Duritza, a high school student who for the third year has put on a free Christmas-themed light show at his home on Riverside Terrace. The unknown amount of money was donated by passers-by and was intended for needy families.

Anyone who may have seen any suspicious activity in or around any of these areas during the time of the burglaries is asked to call the Wall Township Police Department at (732) 449-4500.
