Spring Lake Heights Man Jailed On Theft of Musical Instruments

Man pawned more than $1,300 in instruments for $125, police say.

A Spring Lake Heights man was arrested and charged last week with theft after he stole and pawned several musical instruments, police said.

Matthew B. Bloodgood, 20, was arrested and charged with the theft of $1,325 worth of musical instruments which he sold at a Neptune pawn shop for $125, police said.

Bloodgood sold a Mitchell 6-string guitar and case, a Zildjian high-hat and three other Zildjian cymbols. The items belonged to Bloodgood’s father, according to an arrest warrant.

Bloodgood was taken to Monmouth County jail, Freehold Township, in lieu of $15,000 bail, according to the warrant. He was listed as an inmate late Thursday, jail records say.
