Four Jailed In Connection With Burglaries

Two more arrested and charged in recent break-ins

An Asbury Park man was arrested Tuesday and charged with the recent burglary of a home -- the fourth arrest in connection with a recent spate of daytime home burglaries, authorities said.

Marcos Garcia, 28, is the fourth person arrested in connection with a string of home burglaries stretching back to late last month.

Garica was arrested around 3 a.m. Tuesday and charged with the burglary of a Dovetail Court home, Lt. Walter Pomphrey said.

The burglary -- -- occurred on Sept. 30, Pomphrey said.

Garcia was charged with one count of third degree burglary and one count of third degree theft, Pomphrey said.

Information provided by several witnesses led to Garcia's arrest, Pomphrey said. The Neptune City Police Department also assisted.

Police are also seeking a second person believed to be Garcia's accomplice, Pomphrey said. No further information was provided on that person Tuesday.

Police also announced late Tuesday that was arrested on Friday charged in connection with two burglaries that happened on Belmar Boulevard.

Applegate was arrested at her Jackson home Friday, Pomphrey said. She was previously charged in connection with the burglaries and had been wanted by police.

Garcia and Applegate were taken to Monmouth County Jail, Freehold Township, in lieu of bail, Pomphrey said. Garcia's bail was set at $10,000. Applegate's bail was set at $12,000.
