Three Charged With Drunken Driving Overnight

Three separate traffic stops overnight yield charges

POLICE BRIEF: Three people were arrested for drunken driving following separate traffic stops overnight Saturday, police said.

Luis Rodriguez, 24, of Long Branch, was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated following a traffic stop on Route 18 around 10:40 p.m., according to  a release from Sgt. Frank Lancellotti.

Steven Burtis, 40, of New York, was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated following a traffic stop on Route 35 around 1:30 a.m., Lancellotti said.

Victor M. Gallardo III, 21, of Belleville, was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated following a traffic stop on Route 138 around 2:30 a.m., Lancellotti said.

Patrolman James Cadigan was the arresting officer. All three men were charged and released pending a court date, Lancellotti said.
