Township Man Arrested After Incident At Quick Chek

Burglary, attempted theft were the charges

A township man was arrested and charged Tuesday with burglary and attempted theft after an incident at the Quick Chek convenience store on Belmar Boulevard, police said.

Paul Karol, 30, was arrested at his home around 9:54 p.m. after police tracked him from the Quick Chek at 2510 Belmar Boulevard, police said in a release.

Karol had entered a car parked in front of the store. The driver returned to the car and confronted Karol, who fled down Maxwell Dr. Karol was later located and arrested by Patrolman Chris Gallagher, the release says.

Karol was charged with burglary and criminal attempt to commit theft and taken to the Monmouth County Jail, Freehold Township, in lieu of $21,000 bail, the release says.
