Township Man Jailed After Scuffle With Neptune City Cops

Aggravated assault, obstruction and resisting arrest among charges for New Bedford Road man

A township man was arrested and charged with aggravated assault after he fought with Neptune City police officers trying to arrest him, according to an arrest warrant.

Steven J. Teasley, 41, of New Bedford Road, on Tuesday was arrested and charged with aggravated assault when he fled from and then kicked and punched two Neptune City officers attempting to arrest him at a West Sylvania Avenue home, according to the warrant.

Teasley was taken to Monmouth County jail, Freehold Township, where he remained Thursday, according to jail records.

Teasley also was charged with resisting arrest and obstruction. His bail is set at $55,000, according to jail records.
