Two Drug Busts In Separate Incidents

Traffic stops net arrests for possession

Two teens were arrested for drug possession in separate incidents following traffic stops in town, Wall police said Tuesday.

David K. Hunt, of Wall, was arrested and charged with possession of less than 50 grams of marijuana following a stop near the intersection of Route 35 and 18th Avenue around 9:30 p.m. Monday, Sgt. Chad Clark said.

Hunt was released with a pending court date, Clark said.

In a separate stop around midnight Tuesday, Anthony Bednarczyk, of Toms River, was arrested and charged with possession of synthetic marijuana, known as “Spice” or “K2,’’ Clark said. The location of the stop was not immediately available.

Patrolman Micheal Hurden was the arresting officer in both incidents, Clark said.

The synthetic marijuana was federally banned by the Drug Enforcement Agency last year, Clark said. Several state legislatures, including New Jersey, also have banned several of the chemicals used to make the synthetic marijuana.

Bednarczyk was released with a court date, Clark said.
