Two Locals Arrested On Drug Charges

Traffic stops yield arrests for possession

Two local men were arrested on drug charges following traffic stops in town Monday, police said.

Brian Moore, 27, of Belmar, was arrested and charged around 9:15 p.m. with Driving while intoxicated, possession of less than 50 grams of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia after a traffic stop on Route 35, Sgt. Frank Lancellotti said.

Moore was charged and released with a court date. Patrolman James Cadigan was the arresting officer.

Kevin M. Coffey, 21, of Manasquan, was arrested and charged with possession of less than 50 grams of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia following a traffic stop, Lancellotti said.

Coffey was charged and released with a court date. Detective Sean O’Halloran was the arresting officer, Lancellotti said.
