Two Locals Arrested Overnight Tuesday

Drunken driving and minor drug possession among charges

Two local men were arrested in separate incidents overnight Tuesday, charged with drunken driving and minor drug possession, police said.

Edgar J. Mendez, 51, of Jackson, was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated following a traffic stop on I-195 west of Route 34 around 1 a.m., Sgt. Stephen Wolter said.

Ryan A. Stiles, 26, of Old Bridge was arrested and charged with minor marijuana possession following a traffic stop on an onramp to the Garden State Parkway off Route 138 around 12:15 a.m., Wolter said.
