Two Rushed to Hospital After Motorist Collides With Motorcycle Driver on Friday

Crash is under investigation by police, prosecutor's office

A Friday afternoon accident where a driver collided with a motorcycle rider at the intersection of 18th Avenue and Old Mill Road is under investigation.

An investigation by the Wall Township Police revealed that Helen McNally, 93 of the West Belmar section of Wall Township, was traveling west on 18th Avenue while driving a Saturn SL2 , when she attempted to make a left turn onto Old Mill Road. 

McNally then collided with Billy Hurley, 55 of the West Belmar section of Wall Township, who was traveling east on 18th Avenue while driving a 2006 Harley Davidson FLH.

Hurley and McNally were transported to Jersey Shore University Medical Center by Wall Township Emergency Medical Services and MONOC Paramedics.  Their current medical status is unknown at this time, police said.

The collision is currently under the investigation by the Wall Township Police Department, Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office and the Monmouth County Serious Collision Analysis Response Team.

The roadway was shut down for investigative purposes for approximately three hours, police said.
