Wall Cops: Drunken Driver Rolled SUV on Route 138

Toms River man's one-car crash closes highway for 30 minutes

A Toms River man was arrested on drunken driving charges Monday after he rolled his SUV on Route 138.

Wall police, EMS and Fire Company 1 responded to Route 138 just before 4:30 p.m. to find David Jaquier's 2004 Lincoln overturned in the middle of the roadway, police said.

Subsequent investigation showed that Jaquier, 22, had entered Route 138 West from the Route 35 north ramp when he struck a curb, overturned and landed on his roof in the road, police said. All westbound lanes were closed for approximately 30 minutes as officers processed the scene, and Belmar police assisted with traffic control.
