Wall Police File Drug, Drunken Driving and Shoplifting Charges

A Wall man, Belmar man and Brielle man facing charges

Drug possession, drunken driving and shoplifting charges were filed by Wall police on Sunday.

At about 11:16 am, Officer Baldino observed a vehicle make a motor vehicle infraction and conducted a subsequent motor vehicle stop at Hwy. 138 and Allenwood Rd. 

As a result of the motor vehicle stop and on-scene investigation, Charles Olfano, 38, of Wall, was arrested for possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. Olfano was processed at police headquarters and released on a summons.

At about 1:16 pm, Wall police responded to K-Mart for a shoplifter in custody. An on-scene investigation led to the arrest of Evan H. Penkethman, 28, Belmar, for shoplifting. Penkethman was processed at police headquarters and released on a summons. 

At about 6:18 p.m., Officer Drackwicz observed a motor vehicle infraction and conducted a subsequent motor vehicle stop at Rt 35 and Ocean Road.

As a result of the motor vehicle stop and on scene investigation, Justin X. Berardi, 32, Brielle, was placed under arrest for DWI and open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle. Berardi was processed at headquarters and was released according to John’s Law.
