Wall Police Honored by the 200 Club

Two officers had calmed knife-wielding man

 

Wall Police Lieutenant Pete Lokerson and Patrolman Tom Dowd were honored at the 200 Club Awards ceremony at the Spring Lake Golf Club, police said.

The incident they were being honored for on Friday occurred in December 2012. Lokerson and Dowd responded to a call of an armed subject with a knife, who was threatening to harm himself and others if approached, police said.

"Lokerson and Dowd were able to calmly end the situation safely without harm to anyone involved," police said. "For their swift actions during a tense incident, Lokerson and Dowd were recognized by the 200 Club."

The two officers were among many honored by the Township Committee in April (as shown in photo).
