Wall Police Honored For Bravery, Extraordinary Action

Slew of officers recognized for extraordinary effort and accomplishments

Dozens of Wall Township Police officers were recognized at Wednesday's Township Committee meeting for extraordinary action in the line of duty and awarded citations or certificates honoring their achievement.

Below are their names and accompishments:

Ptl. E. Idzahl and Ptl. D.  Santoro - Certificate of Commendation
For actions during a motor vehicle stop on where a large quantity of
heroin was located and seized from the vehicle.

Lt. P. Lokerson, Ptl. T. Dowd, - Certificate of Commendation
For actions in response to a confrontation with a subject armed with a
knife, where the situation ended safely and without harm to anyone
involved.

Ptl. S. Madhavan- Certificate of Commendation
For actions in response to an Emergency Operations evacuation due to the
impending arrival of Hurricane Irene. Madhavan organized and improved
operations at an evacuation shelter.

Lt. S. Desmarias, Lt. P.  Lokerson, Ptl.  S. Rydinsky, Sgt. E. Olsen -
Distinguished Service Citation
For actions during an armed subject acting irrationally response, where
the accused peacefully surrendered without injury to any involved.

Sgt. J. Wilbert, Det. C. Scerbo, Det. S. O'Halloran - Distinguished
Service Citation
For actions in response to a Bank Robbery that took place in Neptune
City. The accused was recognized and identified and was subsequently arrested
for his crime following a foot pursuit at a township motel.

Det. Lt. W. Pomphrey, Det. Sgt. E. Ertle, Det. M. Textor, Det. V.
O'Rourke, Det. R. Pasqualini, Det. C. Scerbo, Ptl. C. Lisewski, Det. S.
O' Halloran, Ptl. T. Lasko, Ptl. A. Cox. - Certificate of Commendation
During the course of an investigation of  multiple burglary within Wall
Township, a suspect was identified during a motor vehicle stop.
Subsequent investigation and constant surveillance, the suspect and an
accomplice were arrested during the commission of a residential burglary
in the Township of Aberdeen. They were charged with over fifteen
residential burglaries.

Distinguished Service Citation

Certificate of Commendation
The above listed officers are recognized for their professionalism,
dedication, determination and team work shown during the murder
investigation of two year old Tierra Morgan - Glover. During the
investigation Officers worked around the clock and initiated a cross
country manhunt that ended in San Diego California with the suspect's
arrest. This exemplifies the highest traditions in law enforcement and
the Wall Township Police Department.
