Wall Woman Wanted In Burglary Arrested in Asbury Park

Police say her accomplice was already arrested.

A township woman wanted on burglary charges following a theft near the Collingswood Circle in the northwest end of town earlier this month was arrested by Asbury Park police, authorities said Friday.

Latoya Selena Council, 31, of Justin Circle, was arrested in Asbury Park on warrants out of Wall Township on Oct. 5 – three days after the incident in which an accomplice was arrested by Wall Police, according to a release from Wall Police Sgt. Joseph Wilbert.

Council was charged with burglary, theft and obstruction. She also had an unrelated warrant for failure to pay fines. She was taken to Monmouth County jail, Freehold Township, in lieu of $3,705 bail, Wilbert said.

However, jail records on Friday morning show that Council is being held on $10,000 bail, with no indication of the failure to pay fines charge.

Keith Moore, 43, of Justin Circle, was arrested and charged after police responded to the Collingswood Circle area for a report of a theft of cash around 11:41 a.m. Oct. 2, police have said.

As patrols approached it was reported that Moore brandished a knife and fled in the area of the Mews at Collingwood Park, where Moore was arrested a short time later, police have said. 

Moore was charged with third degree conspiracy to commit burglary, fourth degree conspiracy to commit theft, third degree making terroristic threats, fourth degree unlawful possession of a knife and fourth degree obstruction, police have said.
