Would-Be Motorcycle Thief Wanted By Wall Police

Man attempted to steal a parked motorcycle

Police are looking for a man who tried to steal a motorcycle last week from a business near the intersection of Routes 33 and 34.

The suspect is described as a black man, about 200-230 pounds, 6-feet tall and between 25-40 years old, Lt. Walter Pomphrey said.

Last Monday, Sept. 19, the man was seen parking and exiting a silver, full-sized van in a lot next to the motorcycle, and tried to load the bike into the van, Pomphrey said.

The owner of the motorcycle confronted the man, who fled in the van, Pomphrey said.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Wall Township Detective Division at (732) 449-4800. Any information or suspect identity will remain confidential.
