Cell Tower, 7-Eleven Applications On Tap For Zoning Board
Two applications slated for discussion at Wednesday's meeting
The Board of Adjustment on Wednesday is expected to hear continuing testimony on separate applications to build Wall Township’s first 7-Eleven convenience store and a controversial cellular telephone tower on Belmar Boulevard.
The board will hear both applications in open session beginning at 7:30 p.m., according to the panel’s agenda. The meeting begins with a workshop session at 7 p.m. where the public is welcome but may not participate.
The existing Gulf gas station on Route 35 at Allaire Road would be , under a proposal being considered by the board. If built, it would also be the first in the area to also sell gas.

The plan proposes to keep operating the existing gas pumps but turn the existing building into a 2,187-square-foot convenience store.
The proposed store is part of an overall push to expand 7-Eleven's presence in central New Jersey, according to Margaret Chabris, a company spokeswoman.

T-Mobile’s proposal to build a 120-foot cellular at Allenwood Road and Belmar Boulevard when about 40 residents attended the hearing, most speaking against the proposal.
T-Mobile -- of Bellvue, Wash. -- wants to build a 120-foot tower on a swath of land at 3304 Belmar Blvd. It is one of three currently active applications T-Mobile has to build cell towers in town.
