Council Agenda Tonight Includes Possible Amending of Parking Regulations

Governing body to meet tonight at 7 p.m., at municipal complex

Brick Township's Council will hold second readings and final hearings of ordinances at tonight’s meeting, which will revise laws for parking on certain streets in the municipality if they are passed.

The first ordinance seeks to set a fee of $1 per hour to park an automobile in the Ocean Beaches area from April 1 to October 31. Additionally, a seasonal parking sticker issued to senior citizens from the township would be made valid from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m. from April 1 to October 31, for the year it was issued.

The second ordinance would seek to prohibit parking on certain streets, unless a township-issued permit is prominently displayed by motorists. The streets where this would be applicable under the ordinance are Monmouth Avenue, from Mantoloking Road to Lynnwood Avenue; Manchester Avenue, from Mantoloking Road to Lynnwood Avenue; and Sterling Avenue, from Glenwood Avenue to Fairfield Avenue.

The council meets tonight in the on Chambers Bridge Road, at 7 p.m.

Totally agree! This is getting sickening! People with little money who want to enjoy the beach with their family, or alone, in the winter now have to pay to park?!! It should be free in the winter! Outrageous!!! Vote them all out!!

How about those who park to enter the beach pay the fees. Parking tor crab or enjoy the sunset of access to the water are different. Don't hide beach fees in the form of parking. People who want to crab or have access to water should not be in the beach web of fees/

Agreed but if I have a car that does not fit on my lot there is no public space to park without a fee. Now where you live can you park off your owned lot without a fee? Why is it different for me then you? I have been on my bl;ock since 38 paying to support the town. You think your better then I or what?

So why are people parking by the Mantoloking bridge not paying $1 per hour to park in a park but the place near my home wants $1 per hour 24/7 356? In what way is this just? Please explain.
