The Monmouth County Planning Board is kicking off a series of public sessions to unveil the county's master plan, the first countywide comprehensive master plan update in more than 30 years.

The first session, scheduled for Oct. 21, will be held at 2 p.m. at the regular Planning Board meeting in the Hall of Records. A second session on Oct. 22 will be held at 7 p.m. at the Monmouth County Agriculture Building at 4000 Kozloski Road in Freehold Township. The meeting will begin with an open house component at 6:30 p.m.

“A new master plan will address emerging and regional issues while incorporating previous efforts,” Freeholder Deputy Director Serena DiMaso said. “This is an exciting project that will update and focus on the future preservation and growth of our County.”

The master plan establishes contexts and complements elements in the Municipal Land Use Law, according to a news release.

Work on the plan will be done at Planning Board meetings and in sub-committees. Information about these meeting will be posted on the Planning Division section of the County website at www.visitmonmouth.com.
