Local Primary Elections To Be Uncontested

Both the GOP and Democrats advance pair of names for two seats

The upcoming primary elections will be an uncontested affair for both major parties, as both local Republicans and Democrats advanced two names by Monday’s 4 p.m. filing deadline.

Incumbent Committeeman George K. Newberry, of M St., and Mayor Ann Marie Conte, of Overbrook Dr., each filed to run for their party’s nomination to run for 3-year terms on the Township Committee.

Democrats Charles McFadden, of Terrace Place, and Thomas P. Ehrlich, of Buchannan St. also filed for their party’s nomination.

Primary elections are scheduled for June 7. The results of that election will determine who runs for two open seats on the Township Commmittee in the November general election.
