Luttman to Take Oath at Wall Township Reorganization

Committee expected to choose new mayor for 2013 during Wednesday evening session

Committeeman Todd Luttman will be sworn in to a new term when Wall Township reorganizes for 2013.

The Township Committee will hold its annual reorganization meeting at 7 p.m. Jan. 2 at the Municipal Building, 2700 Allaire Road.

Reorganization meetings are traditionally held the first week of the new year and allow the governing body to welcome returning or new members, set temporary budgets, make appointments to volunteer boards and hire or rehire professional staff for the coming year.

Luttman easily won a second term in the November election and will rejoin Republican colleagues Jeff Foster, Ann Marie Conte, Clinton Hoffman and George Newberry aboard the governing body.

Additionally, the Township Committee is expected to select a new mayor Wednesday evening to replace Foster. Under the township's form of government, mayors are selected by a vote of the committee instead of a direct vote by the public and serve as the titular head of government for one year.
