Panels Double Up: Two Meetings Tuesday

Board of Education and Township Committee set to meet on the same day

Because of the Thanksgiving holiday, the Township Committee this week has moved its regular business meeting to Tuesday.

The committee normally meets on Wednesday, but the shortened week prompted the governing body to bump up their regular session by one day.

The committee’s meeting is scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m. at town hall, 2700 Allaire Rd.

Also that night, the Board of Education is set to meet for its regular public session.  The board is set to meet at 8 p.m. at the Intermediate School, 2801 Allaire Rd.

The board’s meeting was postponed from last week, when the schools administration held a forum to collect community input on how the remainder of the school calendar would look following the two-week storm-forced closure of the district.

On Friday, neither body had yet posted an agenda for either meeting.

Schools Superintendent Daniel Simon has said that decisions concerning how the lost school time would be made up could be announced at the board meeting, however.
