QuickChek Hearing Slated For Wednesday

Proposal targets the site of the former Allenwood State Police barracks

A hearing on a proposal to build a convenience store and gas station on the site of the former State Police barracks on Allenwood Road is scheduled for Wednesday before the Board of Adjustment.

The plan, , has not been heard since February, when representatives from proposed an alteration to their original plan to get people into and out of the site from Allenwood Road.

The proposal was not well-received by neighboring residents, who have vocally opposed the appication since hearings began last year.

A scheduled hearing for the application for May was scrapped. As of Monday, the application was still on the zoning board's agenda, according to the township's land use office.

The Board of Adjustment is scheduled to meet at 7:30 p.m. at town hall, 2700 Allaire Road.
